Updates from me

Surprisingly this is a post with absolutely no pics in it what-so-ever. I know that might surprise you since this is the first time in along time that I've had a post with just text.

I just wanted to catch everyone up on what I've been up to lately. Well I have officially graduated with my AA as of August 10th. I applied to two different schools, Flagler and USF (University of South Florida) to continue. I've just been waiting for them to get all the paperwork in and everything. I just had a chance a few minutes ago to check my application status on USF's website and this is what I got:
Congratulations! You have been admitted to the University of South Florida!

The track that I was looking at going into with Flagler and USF were similar but also different. I wasn't sure which I'd prefer most...but I've prayed that which ever direction was the best for me to take, that the Lord would open those doors for me. So I'm kinda excited I think the USF route is the one for me! I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet about everything (I'm sure it'll be here soon) but I just had to share the news.

Please do keep me in your prayers during this time, there's a lot of stuff I'm going to have to figure out! Thanks so much for all of your support!

And to other things....Meg was able to come home for a little visit this weekend. It was nice to have her here & her kitty was one happy camper! Well thanks for stopping by...I'll probably have pics to post soon & get back to the norm! lol

Love ya!

Meg Packing & Her Going-Away Dinner

Megan had everything packed & ready to go Wednesday night to move on Thrusday. We planned a special going-away dinner for her. We thought it would be fun to order pizza & we ordered a huge chocolate-chip icecream cake (it looked like an oversized chocolate chip icecream sandwinch thing).

Megan had requested that we all be at home for a family dinner with everyone there before she left (which can be difficult living with a bunch of adult with different committments) and the Lord worked it out that Wednesday night (the night before she moved to her dorm) that everyone of us were at home, no one working, out etc. it was nice! It was kind of funny because we were sitting at our long beautiful dinning room table with our "special" dishes & we were eating pizza & drinking sprite! It was great, pretty funny! We had a nice sit down dinner together (Me, Meg, Dad, Mom, Andrew & GGmama) Then we enjoyed watching the huge cake being cut b/c that was work in itself! But mom did a great job cutting us all pieces (it was really hard to cut b/c of the double cookie & frozen icecream. It was entertaining for us that's for sure.

Here are some pictures I snapped from Wednesday night!

Yes that's right we brought out the fancy dishes for this special dinner (even though it was pizza! ) hehe

Well, today was kind of an emotional day for everyone here at the "A" house. My little sister & my parents youngest child packed her room up & moved off to college.

Thanks to all those who have said a few prayers for Megan's move & the transition for her and also for the family. We appreciate your loving support during this time. We are so excited for her & know that God has some great blessings in store for her in the future. Thank the Lord for the opportunity that He has allowed for Megan. I'm just so excited for her! I took the day off from work, along with my mom to help Megan get situated. Here are some shots that I took during the day today with the different stages of Megan's move!

Love Ya,
Jess

Got Meg's Jeep all loaded up with her stuff, and a few things in my car...and headed off to the school

Entering Meg's dorm room

entering the room...how cool is it that Meg's favorite number has always been #2 & that's her dorm number!!! WOO HOOO!

After a quick trip to Target to pick-up the last few (ok lets be serious, a lot) of things we headed back to the campus to Megan's dorm to unpack. And here Mom & Meg are unpacking...

That's the end of Megan's college dorm pics. I just realized that I didn't take any pictures outside....which is probably because the ones that I did take were in a hurry b/c I spent most of the time going back & forth from the car to the dorm with boxes & stuff. Then unpacking the room. We had a great time doing all of this. Many fun memories were made.

What time did I make again mom putting that entertainment table together? Was it 19 minutes? Not bad if I do say so myself, with a borrowed screw driver & a little mistake! LOL that was fun! And the plugging in all the stuff & then unplugging it to move it...We did unpack & set up pretty fast once we got there! Great job guys!

I plan on taking some pictures outside her dorm room very soon, there are some great places for pictures at her school. It's a beautiful school & campus!

Our Table

I remembered to grab my camera after the wedding when we went to eat. We had a very fun time at our table. Sorry I didn't get any wedding pics, but we had fun taking these pics! I do wish that I could've gotten some with more of the family...oh well hopefully Rob & Laura will put up the ones they took.

Our table at the reception...we had such a fun time. Joking around & just having fun hanging out! (Notice Stephen has his entire half-a-loaf of bread in his hand, who eats like that really?!?)

The Wine Bottle

Here is the picture of the wine bottle that my parents got for their anniversary. It is beautiful! I had to keep it in the shipping wrap so that it had a plain background & you can see it better. On the other side it has the wine label but I didn't take a picture of that. It's such a great idea!

Happy 25th Anniversary, Mom & Dad

I had to put a post in honor of my parent's twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. I wanted to post a picture of them on their wedding day, but I figured that I might get in a little bit of trouble if I did ;o) I went with a more recent picture of them.

Congratulations to my mom and dad for making this milestone. I think it is an amazing example! I love you guys!

Links

I've added a new link...it's a link to my new photo blog. I'm going to be loading the pictures I took during my photography class there and pics that don't really relate to the things on this blog. So check that out. I'm only going to have pictures over there so that won't be updated as frequently as I do this one.

I have a bunch of pictures that I took in my class that I have to get loaded on to cds to get them on the blog. I'm planning on getting that done soon.

Stop by the new blog & leave me your thoughts!

The Bridal Shower

Many of you know my friend Jessica. Well we (me & the two bridesmaids) threw a bridal shower for her at my house on Saturday. I thought I'd share some of the pictures with you since a few people had asked about it. It went very well. There were about 14 people there. It was a lot of work & running about but it turned out very nice. Here are a few pictures. BTW thanks to my mom for letting us have it at our house & thanks to my dad & brother for keeping out of the way :)
Food...ummm yum!

The "guest frame" that I made...I put the invitation in the middle of a piece of poster board, in a frame & had everyone there sign it...
