Korn

"Korn has parted ways with guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch, who has chosen Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end," read a statement posted this week on the band's Web site.

I thought this was pretty cool! I thought it was very interesting how he said:
...he was becoming increasingly disenchanted with himself, producing heavy metal music that invoked dark and morbid images...

It definitely makes me think about what I listen to, because I know I've been in situations that I've liked certain songs and then listened to the words, and was blown away! (I didn't listen to THAT anymore!)

It's crazy how sometimes songs sound so great(beat & stuff) and then the
lyrics are just not something that you should be listening to! But I guess that's they way he wants it to be....(because if you knew what they were saying you wouldn't listen to it!

Tsunami Digital Pics

Wow...have you seen these pictures yet? They were taken on a digital camera that was found after the tsunami. The digital camera belonged to a couple who died in the tsunami. The camera didn't work when it was found, but the people who found the it were able to get the pictures on the memory card.

The pictures say everything. It's sad! To me, the last one looks like the last thing they saw before they started to run!

The links is the am show I listen to sometimes. Thought you might want to see them!

Sniff Sniff Sneeze Sneeze

That is what I've been doing all day!!!Allergies, a cold...I dunno what it is but I want it to go away!!! It's annoying!!!

My stats teacher still hasn't given us the tests from last Fri back yet. I'd really like to know what I got on it!!! (or maybe I don't)

For those of you who didn't know, we started re-roofing our house last weekend! WOW what a workout! Man it's difficult! Yep...I was up there with my dad and Andrew getting the old stuff off! I'm not afraid of heights but I had to take it slow at first to get use to it. It's weird trying to get use to standing at an angle and walking back and forth taking shingles and stuff off! I give mega bonus points to those who work on roofs and houses all day long! That's hard stuff! I'm on my feet at work all day, but that's nothing, compared to the full body work that you have to do with roofing and construction!

Just keep us in your prayers for safety and that we can finish quickly! For good weather too!!

Well, that's it! [Sniff sniff] I have to get ready for work! Yippe!!!

Bored???

Have you seen this game? I've had it in my favorites for awhile, and saw it again tonight!

Check out the Retail Alphabet Game but be careful, you won't want to stop until you get them all right! The 3rd Edition was the one I got the most right on. Try it! It's a lot of fun!

Did procrastination pay off?

My Comp. teacher gave us our papers back. (the one that I wrote about a couple weeks ago that I procrastinated on writing). Well, I got a 94/A on it! That's pretty good!! Especially since I procrastinated on writing it so bad, and then deleted 1/2 of it!

I wasn't actually expecting to get an A (hoping maybe that would teach me a lesson!) I guess I taught myself the lesson. Even if I can still get an A after waiting until the night before the paper was due and then having to type it twice; I don't plan on doing that again!!

There only thing that kept me from getting a higher A was a few punctuation problems....ie. commas. (which is not surprising because I didn't really check it for grammatical stuff because of how late it was when I finally finished typing it! Just wanted to share the "news".

I have another Stats test Friday! If you think about it pray that I will remember what I study! It is apparently the hardest test of all the chapter tests....so says the teacher. (and since he's the one who makes the tests I think I'm going to take his word for it!)

I just pray that I don't mess up on the little stuff because that's what always gets you in math with formula's and stuff!

Hope you all are good!

Love ya

Movies...

The Forgotten

So, I finally saw The Forgotten, last weekend. (yes, I know it took me awhile to write, but with blogs you actually have to feel like writing or it sounds too forced!)

It was a very interesting concept! I liked it though. It's definitely not like a lot of the other movies you see. Not predictable by any means. There were a couple slow spots, but not too bad.

On the DVD there is a optional extended version with an alternate ending. Which I think is pretty cool. It's always fun to see the different ideas they had even though they didn't make it to the "theatrical version". Although I did like the ending that they kept it as better!
Here is the description from the Netflix envelope:
"A desperate mother tries to prove the existence of her missing son in this chilling psychological thriller. Unable to cope with the loss of her 8-year-old boy, Tell Paretta (Julianne Moore) seeks counsel from a psychiatrist (Gary Sinise), who tells her that her son was merely a figment of her imagination. After meeting another parent Dominic West) with the same story, Tell sets out to uncover the truth."

The movie is rated PG-13. I definitely recommend this movie, it's not a "scary" movie!

I wanted to make sure I told you my opinion on this movie, since I mentioned it in an earlier post.

Another great movie that I saw recently:

SNL: Best of Jimmy Fallon

This is hilarious! It's not really a movie "per say", but it's a great collection of all his skits! He is one of my favorites,we were laughing like crazy watching this one!! If you like Jimmy or just want a good laugh you have to see this! It even has his audition video for SNL on it (which is very funny).

Well, that's all the good movie's that I've seen recently.

I learned my lesson

In my Comp. class last Mon. we were given a few topics to write a 2 1/2-4 page essay on. This essay was due for "review" today and the final copy is due Fri.

I am usually very scheduled when it comes to turning in assignments and being prepared for the next day of class. I planned on getting my "rough draft" of the paper completed on Sat. afternoon or at the latest Sun.

Well, this time I decided that I wanted to "see" how it would be to completely procrastinate and wait until the night before the paper was due to start....and finish it (this is not an unusual occurrence...I know a lot of people that do it this way).

Well, as I found out last night procrastination and Jessica do NOT mix!

I started typing the paper after I got home from work yesterday around 7. I worked on it for just about 2 hours (at this point I'm ok with what is going on ...maybe a little rushed...but I was thinking hey maybe it IS easier to just wait until the last min.)

Just about the time I was thinking that, the paper was almost finished! Then while I was "cutting & pasting" part of the paper I some how deleted 1/2 of the paper! I tried and tried to undo and redo whatever I had done...No good! The bulk of the paper was gone FOREVER!!!

I was soooo annoyed! Why couldn't I just get the paper done at the last minute like everyone else?? It always seemed to me that everyone just did it at the last minute with no problem at all!

Either they all have problems being rushed and completing it in a hurry or I just do horribly "under pressure".

After kicking myself a couple of times I then worked on the paper another 2 hours...and finished it. (I'd just like to add that the paper did not sound better the second time!) It is so hard to remember all the little details after they all get ERASED!

I have decided that I learned my lesson and that I will NEVER procrastinate starting any assignment again. I just don't think the "pressure" helps me at all.

On a lighter note, we got our Stats test back from the other day, and I passed it! I am so glad. I thought that I did ok the day I took it, but I never feel completely ok with it until I actually see my grade!!!

Well, I better go now. It's time to get ready for work!!!

love you all
